Nature Girl / by Kelley, Jane

Publication: New York : Random House, 2010 . 239 p. : 22 cm. Date: 2010

This book is about a girl named Megan. As usual she is going to Vermont with her family for the summer. Her friend Lucy promised to come with them but her mom had just found out that she has cancer. Her parents won't let her watch TV, so all Megan will do is sit and stare at the blank screen. Finally her parents send her on a trail with her older sister Ginia and Ginia's boyfriend Sam. Megan gets lost and decides to go to Lucy's Grandmother's house, where Lucy is staying. Throughout the book you sort of have to feel sorry for her because she is a city girl out in the country. I would never want to be in that situation. Added 05/02/2011 by Samantha

The Hatchling: Guardians of Ga'Hoole - Book 7 by Lasky, Kathryn.

Publication: New York Scholastic Inc. 2005 28 Date: 2005

The Hatchling is an amazing story about a young owl named Nyroc. Nyroc was hatched into a world of evil. His parents were the worst owls imaginable. Even worse, he looked exactly like his mother so wherever he went he was feared by all. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes adventure or animal books. (If you like this book, you might be interested in the rest of the Guardians of Ga'Hoole series, though this book makes sense, even if you haven't read the books before this one.)
